Star Power Spotlight: Pete Loeb

For Pete Loeb, running has always been about more than competition—it’s about building confidence, connection, and community.

A lifelong athlete who has competed at the collegiate level, Pete has worn many hats: educator, coach of elite runners, nonprofit leader, and startup builder. His Girls on the Run journey, however, began in the most personal way—as a parent watching his daughter experience the program.

Inspired by the GOTR’s mission to help girls become joyful, healthy, and confident—a quality he notes is often missing even at the elite levels of sport—Pete was hooked.

From there, Pete joined the Greater Boston Board of Directors, blending his professional skills with his personal passion. In 2022, he stepped in full-time as Director of Finance and Operations, quickly earning the affectionate nickname “The Finance Department” from his colleagues.

"To be able to come to work each day and know that what I do helps at least one girl feel more joyful, healthy, and confident is an awesome feeling," Pete shares.

Now serving as Chief Finance and Operations Officer, Pete is a steady force behind the scenes. He plays a critical role in guiding strategy, strengthening systems, and ensuring the team is set up for success as GOTR Greater Boston expands to serve more than 4,500 participants this year.

Thank you, Pete, for bringing your passion, leadership, and “Star Power” to Girls on the Run—and for lifting up girls throughout Greater Boston and beyond.
